When it rains....

it flippin' pours. ugh. So... ready for some complaining?? Well, yesterday, I decided that I should upgrade my web hosting with Yahoo to "unlimited storage, unlimited file transfer" so that I could provide my freebies (and the 1$ kits) to you guys with out you having to wait to download. It doesn't cost much more than what I was already paying for my photography website (I'd link you - but you'd see a bunch of NOTHING). It SAID that my service would NOT be interrupted and the world would be golden. BULL HOCKEY. Now - when you go to www.herronstudios.com there is NOTHING. Even though all my files are where they should be, never even moved them ... just plain NOTHING. So, I've been on hold (for the 2nd time today) for the past 31 minutes with Yahoo. I haven't even talked to anyone about this yet. I'm so aggravated.

Ok, so now let's ADD to that aggravation. I'm sitting here at the computer this morning - browsing blogs, checking e-mail doin' whatever ... and I realize the vent that is at my feet is blowing cold air. So I wait for it to heat up ... and I wait ... and I wait. After mumbling a few obscenities, I walk outside .. barefoot in pajamas .. to check the gas gauge. Sure enough, it's on ZERO. We JUST bought 100 gallons on the freaking 14th of January. In 11 days we apparently went through two hundred and fifty four dollars worth of gas. Un-freaking-believable. Luckily, I caught it BEFORE the weekend actually got here. We usually wake up on a Saturday morning with our toes and noses about to fall off. Of course, since our gas tank can only be serviced by one company, and they are independent, they don't do weekend OR after hours calls. We got lucky this time considering we won't have to go the whole weekend with out heat.

About the only decent news we've gotten this week is that there is on-post housing available at Fort Knox. We were told by another soldier here that he called (he's goin' there too) and was told that there were no vacancies for anyone below E-7. Well, yesterday I received an e-mail from housing saying that what that soldier told us was wrong because there were close to 400 spots open. Woo-hoo! It really cuts down on my stress level to know that we are going to have a place to live as soon as we get there (with little to no waiting) - and to know that we aren't going to have to search for amenities off-post. I've never lived away-away from my family before so this will be interesting. I went to Appalachian State for 3 years, but it was only 4 hours away (as apposed to 10) and I was home every other weekend.

Speaking of the moving thing ... My poor son. I know he is going to have a hard time understanding why we can't just drive around the corner to Mi-Mi's house anymore. For the last two years, we've spent every Saturday with my parents (his mi-mi & pop) and several times a week my mom comes by our house and either takes him to her house or sticks around here for a bit. So ... to hopefully ease the transition, I am going to make him a family book. I'm thinking an 8x8 album with pictures of everyone he loves. His Godmom, Amber, suggested that my husband write a story to go with it so we can read it every night and he can say "night-night" to everyone in the book. I'm super excited about the idea .. and I already know what papers I'm going to use, LOL. I'm going to use the Run kit from DigiTreats. The colors fit my son to a T, and there are enough to complete and ENTIRE album. So yea ... maybe if she will allow it, I'll share the album as quick pages.

Well - if you read my complaints - I thank you. :)

Here's the freebie. I made it a while ago but never shared it. I still think it's super cute, so I decided to go ahead n stick it up here.

this kit is 45.2 mb's and includes:
5 papers
1 felt heart
1 gold heart
1 gold eyelet
1 heart stickpin
2 ribbon
1 cardboard frame with ribbon wrap

Sorry! This download has expired as a freebie!
Please go to www.scrapdebris.com to purchase it for 1$!

Please do not share my 4shared link. If you want to share
my kit with someone, please link them to my blog!

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!

*note: I've been on hold for 73 minutes now .. have not talked to a person, at all. I've pee'd 3 times, paid the gas guy, posted this freebie, AND fed my son lunch. I think yahoo is going to lose my business.

Your idea for the little album is a great idea. When my kids moved away I framed a photo of us for the children and told the parents that this photo was one that could be hauled around if the kids chose to do that. That I could send a replacement if necessary. Every now and then one of them gets to missing us and does just that! Also, thank you for the cute Valentine kit. Love the patterns and colors you made it in.
